THE CURRENT REGISTRAR OF THE JOINT ADMISSION AND MATRICULATION BOARD, JAMB AND THE CURRENT VICE CHANCELLOR OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN HAS BEEN ACCUSED OF A 3.5 BILLION NAIRA FRAUD.
Report has it that the current JAMB Registrar, Prof.Ishaq Oloyede (who was the former VC of Unilorin) and the Present, VC of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali have been accused of a case of fraud worth N3.5 Billion.
This petition was laid by the Academic Staff Union of the Universities, ASUU chapter of the University to EFCC.
According to the petition which was titled: “Complaint of fraudulent practices by Professor IO Oloyede and Professor AG Ambali as immediate past and current vice chancellors respectively of the University of Ilorin: Pension fraud and other financial and economic crimes,” the both of them were said to have been involved in pension fraud, unremitted deductions, extortion from students, contract inflation and kick-backs; as well as unlawful payments to ex-principal officers of the university
Prof. Oloyede The JAMB Registrar has however denied the accusations stating that he operated a transparent system within the period he served the university as Vice Chancellor. He called on the EFCC, to investigate the allegations and take necessary action after establishing the truthfulness of the case brought before it by the union.
